Bulletins

Bulletin #2

Dear ECC friends,

Ian Simpson
It is with sadness that I start this second ECC 2019 bulletin with the news that Ian
Simpson died on June 12th after a long battle with cancer. Ian sailed in our ECC crew from 2003 in Mallorca and eventually went on to skipper his own boat EC41 in 2010 and was a regular participant in the ECC until his illness and he will be greatly missed.

ECC 2019

It has been a busy few weeks since we got back from Sardinia. During this time the 2019 Commodore team has been working with the potential organising coordinators to decide on the location and date for ECC 2019.
We are pleased to announce the ECC 2019 will be held in Greece between 04 and 11 May 2019 and the coordinator will be Sasha King at High Point Yachting.
We will pick-up our boats at the Alimos Marina which is 30-45 minutes from Athens by car/bus. The locations that we will visit will be finalised after our recce trip in the early autumn, but we wanted to pass on the location and date information as soon as possible.
The ECC has not been to Greece for 13 years so this location will be new for many of you. It offers beautiful and historic sailing and we hope that you are as excited as we are about this opportunity.

Entry List

Thank you to all the skippers who have confirmed their intention to take part in ECC 2019.
To date we have 36 boats that have confirmed or made provisional entries.
The Entry List will remain open until 52 entries are received or the 15 August 2018 (whichever is the earliest), so if you have not yet confirmed your intention to take part, please do not delay. The holidays are starting soon, so don’t leave it too late!
To confirm your participation please send an email to:

ecc.commodore@gmail.com

advising us of your intention to enter and preferred boat size which we will endeavour to obtain, but we are ordering the boats sizes now.

Entry Fee

The ECC entry fee is €110 per participant, with a minimum of €550 per boat.
The fees are used for the deposit to secure the fleet. Should a cancellation be necessary every effort will be made to find another entrant to take over your booking – which will enable a refund to be made.

How to pay

The coordinator will advise how to make payment details in the next few days.
