Dear ECC friends,
The whole ECC family is devastated to hear of the tragic passing of Wolfgang Lubcke. We all remember Wolfgang as a larger-than-life figure with a huge smile all over his cheerful face. He was the perfect model of an ECC colleague, and we appreciated his charismatic enthusiasm that infected everyone around him. He will be hugely missed by us all.
Wolfgang was such a wonderful person on every level and a great skipper who will live in our hearts and memories forever. Our thoughts are with his beloved at this difficult time.
Dear ECC Fleet,
in July a non-operatable brain cancer was detected at our former Skipper and very good friend Wolfgang Lubcke “Lupo”. He died 12. October 2023, not even after 10 months after retirement. Our Crew of Boat 86 have been sadly surprised by the message and we haven’t had the chance to say goodbye to him as well. It is a shock for our Crew of Boat 86 and everybody from the ECC Fleet who knows Wolfgang “Lupo” as the communicator, connector, optimist, the fun maker, …. He had plans to sail more, discover the Europe with his wife and the camper… He left behind his wife Christel, his daughter Rebekka and his wider family
