The Engineering Challenge Cup (ECC) was founded in 1993. It involves friendly, competitive sailing between yachts representing companies associated with engineering. This one-week event is held in spring every year in the Mediterranean with six daily events.
The ECC has been staged in Greece (Kos, Athens and Lavrion), Turkey (Marmaris, Kusadasi, Göcek and Bodrum), Croatia (Pula, Splitand Biograd), Spain (Mallorca) and Italy (Elba, Sardinia and Sicily). Participating nationalities over the years: Albania, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Luxemburg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Ossetia, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UAE, USA, Wales and Zimbabwe.
May 2024, the 29th edition will take place: ECC 2024. Commodore Allard de Vos Klootwijk and his crew of Boat 8 now have the honour to organise this fantastic event for you. It will be yet another unforgettable week of competition – safety first -, good sportsmanship and forging and celebrating friendships!
